TIPS TO REDUCE OR ELIMINATE BAD CHECKS
►Do get a valid driver's license or other official picture ID.
►Do not accept checks with a check number under 500
►Do not accept starter checks
►Do not accept counter checks
►Do Get 2 live phone numbers, preferably home & work.
►Do have the employee taking the check initial the check.
It's a fact… less than 1% of the average businesses checks are usually returned, and at the
most 3%. Only 1/10th of those usually require secondary collections…but they all count and
all take money out of your business. We are here to help and the best part is we don't get paid

Secure Check’s optional secondary collections process refers to how checks are handled
when they aren’t eligible for electronic collection. When a check is not recoverable by
electronic means, Secure Check begins a manual process where we contact the check
writer by mail and or phone. Our goal is to make amicable arrangements with the check
writer for repayment as well as protect your company’s reputation and good will. During this
process our goal is to make sure your customer is treated with courtesy and remains a good
customer for years to come. In the event that your customer just doesn’t want to pay, we’ll
then refer the case to our attorney network for more aggressive collection.
This is an OPTIONAL SERVICE that you may choose to enable or not to enable. 99% of our
clients have opted to use it. When checks falling under this category are collected, a
percentage of the face value is paid to us upon recovery. While this list is not conclusive,
these are typically the type of checks are automatically required to be collected secondarily,
however exceptions may occur:
►FRAUDULENT CHECKS
►COUNTERFEIT, STOLEN and FORGED CHECKS
►CLOSED ACCOUNTS
►STOP PAYMENT CHECKS
►Any check over $2500.00
►Any check drawn on the government
►Any check over 180 days old
►Checks on incorporated businesses, like Wal-Mart, Penney's, IBM, usually "INC."
